Full Property Description

HISTORY ...
The chateau was built in 1450 by the Lesbolières family, then bought in 1518 by Jean Beaupoil de St. Aulaire, who finishes the work and extends it. In 1774 the Ardant family, who were wealthy merchants from Limoges, acquire the Château. It changes hands several times until in 1870 it becomes the property of Baron Rolland de Blomac, who fully restores the Château and its park. This impressive and extremely pretty

Château comprises: of a rectangular original building with four corner towers to the west, an intermediate building links it to the chapel. The most interesting part is the original building dating from the fifteenth century.  Still remaining, are the small initial windows to be found on the north side. The south facade and towers were restored in the nineteenth century, with doors and windows in neo Gothic style, ramparts and battlements. Restoration is of both high quality and great unity. At the same time the extensive outbuildings were added, with great concern for unity and quality. The walls are built in beautiful granite stone that glistens in the sunshine, highlighted by the alternative red and white stonework, framing the doors and windows.
