A Historian wrote about this property:
"The small manor house in Vattetot-sur-Mer has been tastefully restored, so that it remains quite typical of the manor houses on the coast of the Pays de Caux. On the ground floor, the walls are made of blond flint and a few white stones frame the openings, both around the windows and the low-arched main door. The corbelled floor has kept its small windows and the roof all its height. The Hogues estate, to which it belonged, is mentioned in a charter of Henry II Plantagenet (1133-1189), King of England, but also Duke of Normandy. This text attested to the donation of the estate to the abbey of Fécamp, so it can be assumed that this manor house was built by the monks to facilitate the administration of their property."
